The primate chaired the meeting of the Academic Council of the Kyiv Theological Academy

On August 29, 2022, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kyiv and All Ukraine chaired a meeting of the Academic Council of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary before the start of the new academic year in theological schools, the Information and Education Department of the UOC reports.

The Presidium of the Academic Council also included Metropolitan Antony of Boryspil and Brovary, the head of the UOC, the rector of the KDAiS, Archbishop Sylvester of Belogorod, the vice-rector for educational work, Bishop Ambrose of Zgurovsky, and the first vice-rector, Archpriest Sergei Yushchik. Professors and teachers of KDAiS, as well as members of the administration of the theological school took part in the meeting.

Then Archbishop Sylvester announced changes in the administration and the teaching corporation of KDAiS.

Vice-rector for scientific and theological work, Professor Vladimir Viktorovich Burega, spoke from a report on preparations for international conferences and a solemn act on November 9. The XIV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Spiritual and Secular Education: History of Relations – Modernity – Prospects” was determined to be held on October 18, 2022 and dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of St. Paisius Velichkovsky and the 30th anniversary of the revival of Kievskaya. The solemn act on November 9, the day of memory of the Monk Nestor the Chronicler, will be dedicated to the 375th anniversary of the repose of St. Peter Mohyla.
