The OCA elected new head of Diocese of Chicago and Midwest

The Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in America elected a new bishop for the vacant Diocese of Chicago and Midwest at the 20th Assembly of Clergy and Laity of the Orthodox Church in America, which opened on July 18 in Baltimore, Maryland.

The new diocesan hierarch was Bishop Daniel (Broom), former Bishop of Santa Rosa, California, Vicar of the Diocese of San Francisco and Western, who served as Locum Tenens.

Earlier it was reported that the Primate of the OCA supported Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv.
