The Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church during the meeting of the 165th synodal period decided to send a letter of protest to Archbishop Elpidophoros of America and to the Patriarchate of Constantinople. It is reported by orthodoxianewsagency.

It was talking about the unauthorized baptism of the children of a gay couple on the territory of the Church of Greece, carried out by the Archbishop of the United States.

“At the same time, the Holy Synod discussed in detail the issues of the pastoral solution of such issues, remaining committed to what was determined by the Lord, the Holy Apostles and Holy Fathers,” the message says.

Earlier it was reported that Metropolitan Anthony of Glyfada sent a letter to the Synod of the Greek Church and Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens regarding the baptism of children of a same-sex couple, which was held in Athens by the head of the American Archdiocese of the Phanar, Archbishop Elpidophoros.
