The first divine services were held in the Russian Orthodox Church in the Central African Republic

On July 2, 2022, the first divine services of the Russian Orthodox Church were held in the city of Bangui (the Central African Republic).

This was announced in his Telegram channel by the Patriarchal Exarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa, Metropolitan of Klin Leonid (Gorbachev).

“For compatriots working in the Central African Republic, Priest Georgy Maksimov performed a prayer service for the blessing of water, a memorial service. After that, the ceremony of consecrating the premises of the Russian House in Bangui was performed.

People were glad to see the priest and expressed their wishes for future meetings on a regular basis,” said Metropolitan Leonid.

Earlier it was reported that the ROC would consider the possibility of creating its own structures in each country of the African continent.
