On June 17, 2022, the mayor of Khmelnitsky Alexander Simchishin instructed the Land Resources Department of the City Council to prepare a project to terminate the right to use land plots by “openly hostile religious organizations” in order to “stimulate the process of disconnecting religious communities from the Russian Orthodox Church,” reports the YeUa youtube channel.
“After the right to permanent use of these sites is terminated, we will be able to transfer them to those religious communities that pray in Ukrainian for the Ukrainian victory. This will simplify the process of transition to the Ukrainian church,” Simchyshyn said.
According to Ukrainian legislation, “The right to permanent use of a land plot is the right to own and use a land plot that is in state or communal ownership, without setting a term.”
