In the Bila Tserkva diocese, armed looters broke down the doors to the temple and started a fight

On May 22, 2022, in the village of Fursy of the Bila Tserkva diocese of the UOC, armed looters broke into the church of St. John the Theologian, starting a fight and breaking down the doors. This is informed by the website of the diocese.

In the morning, a crowd came to the Church of St. John the Theologian, led by OCU clerics Mykola Gopainich and Maxim Matviychuk. Aggressive people, some in military uniform, pushed the parishioners of the temple, hit the priest, Archpriest Andrey Mukha and demanded the keys, shouting: “We came to pray, but the priest does not let us!”. A group of men broke down the door of the temple and to the applause and shouts of the crowd burst inside.

After the fight, the cleric of the OCU addressed those present: “I ask you to come to the church to pray, voluntarily, calmly pray. To the Ukrainian Orthodox Local Church.

Law enforcement officers from the Dialogue Police were present at the scene, but they did not interfere in what was happening. The invaders tried to prevent video filming, but the witnesses of the lawlessness managed to record how the next seizure of the Orthodox church took place.
