Metropolitan Theodoret of Laodicea was elected by the Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople as the new representative of the Patriarch of Constantinople in Athens, Sedmitsa reports.

At a meeting on February 10 and 11, the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Constantinople also decided to elect Archimandrite Gregory (Tsutsulis) as a bishop with the title of Abydos, vicar of Bishop Joseph of Buenos Aires.
