The UGCC imposed a “church tax” on the inhabitants of the Lviv village

In the Lviv region, in the village of Podbortsy, local residents received receipts with a debt for not making a monthly donation to the UGCC church. TSN reports.

It’s about 30 hryvnia per month. Moreover, receipts come even to those who do not go to church.

“The priest simply imposed a “church tax” on the inhabitants in this way. The leadership of the UGCC stated that these are internal issues of the parish, and the priest supposedly had nothing to do with it. At the same time, such a practice of “debt” is by no means new among the Uniates – there are many cases when the clergy of the UGCC refused to perform the sacraments and even bury the dead because of the “unpaid debt to the temple” from relatives,” writes in a comment on about the incident blogger Alexander Voznesensky.
