The ruling bishop of the Diocese of Alexandria congratulated with Christmas the parishioners of Checheleevka village, who suffered from the representatives of the “OCU”

On January 15, 2022, on the day of the memory of St. Seraphim of Sarov the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Alexandria and Svetlovodsk Bogolep paid an archpastoral visit to the religious community in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village. Checheleevka in the Petrovsky district of the Kirovograd region. The parish was subjected to illegal re-registration and today lives in a state of constant attacks and aggression from supporters of the OCU. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

Despite all the hardships, with God’s grace, the Orthodox community not only continues its saving mission, but also looks to the future with optimism. In a warm and sincere conversation with the archpastor, the parishioners showed their steadfastness in the Orthodox faith, solidarity and desire to be true Christians.

The diocese asks for support and prayers for the long-suffering community.

Recall that the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration, without the consent and any communication of believers, in February 2020 secretly re-registered two religious communities of the Diocese of Alexandria of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, one of them in Checheleevka.
