An exhibition of blasphemous “icons” of the Mother of God was staged at the Kiev airport

An exhibition of modern paintings styled after the Orthodox icons of the Mother of God “Tenderness” and “Seven-shot” is being held in terminal “B” of the airport “Kiev” (Zhuliany), the UOJ reports.

The editorial board of the Union of Orthodox Journalists was informed about this by Archpriest Kirill Zazerin, a cleric of the Izyum diocese, who was outraged by the signatures to the paintings. Seemingly ordinary works of modern art are signed in Church Slavonic script and contain the inscription “ΜΡ ΘΥ” (abbreviation from Greek “Μητερ Θεου” – “Mother of God” – Ed.) The cleric did not manage to get acquainted with the exhibition – the passage to the hall was blocked.

“There are two art galleries operating at our airport,” employees of the Zhulyany airport explained to the UOJ correspondent. – The gallery in Terminal A is publicly accessible and supervised by the airport administration. But the gallery in terminal “B” is a separate private institution “ART GALLERY”, to which we simply rent out premises ”.

The name of the organizer of the exhibition at the airport was not given to journalists, as well as information about the time of its showing.
