In any trials, one must learn to see the action of the Providence of God. His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy said this in his welcoming speech to the participants and guests of the XIII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Spiritual and Secular Education: History of Relationships – Modernity – Prospects”, which opened at KDAiS on October 19, 2021 and is dedicated to the problems of pastoral ministry in the modern world.
As the Primate of the UOC noted, today the priest faces many difficult questions, to which one can hardly find ready-made answers.
“So, one of the most difficult trials of recent years was the coronavirus pandemic, in which it was necessary to find acceptable forms for the Church to introduce epidemic requirements and solve difficult questions about the procedure for performing ordinances in hospitals and temples,” he said.
But whatever the situation, the archpastor continued, “The Church is guided by pastoral priorities.”
“A priest should always carry the good news of salvation in Christ to a person. In any trials, we must learn to see the action of Divine Providence, ”said Metropolitan Onuphry.
