The Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church, which was supposed to take place in November, has been postponed to May 2022. Such a resolution was adopted by the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarchia reports.
“On October 15, 2021, the members of the Holy Synod, having discussed the situation arising in connection with the difficult epidemic situation with the help of remote communications, decided to postpone the Bishops’ Council of the Russian Orthodox Church to May 2022, setting the dates of its meetings on May 26-29,” the message informs.
As previously reported, on December 29, 2020, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church decided to hold the Council of Bishops from November 15 to 18, 2021. The previous Council of Bishops lasted from November 29 to December 2, 2017.
