The RCC said that they freely serve in the annexed Crimea

The Roman Catholic Church can freely carry out its pastoral activities in the annexed Crimea, Mechislav Mokshitsky, Archbishop-Metropolitan of Lviv, Chairman of the Conference of Roman Catholic Bishops of Ukraine told the Polish website EKAI.

“In Crimea, there is Bishop Jacek Piel, who reports directly to the Holy See. Our Church can freely carry out her pastoral activity there. He struggles with certain material difficulties, but as far as the pastoral ministry is concerned, this is not limited, ”said Mieczyslaw Mokszycki.

“The Vatican does not recognize the occupation of Crimea, but signs an agreement with Russia on the legalization of the RCC in the occupied Crimea,” they express their dissatisfaction in the DFU publication.
