The Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church considers it important to testify on international platforms about the oppression of Orthodox Christians in Ukraine

The importance of testifying on international platforms about the oppression of Orthodox believers in Ukraine was noted following the report of the chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk at a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, which took place on September 23-24, 2021 under the chairmanship of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, writes website of the DECR ROC.

On July 14, the DECR chairman made a speech at the International Summit on Religious Freedom in Washington. In his report, Metropolitan Hilarion spoke in detail about the oppression of Orthodox believers in Ukraine and about the persecution of Christians in other countries.
