Now the Montenegrin nationalists, followers of President Djukanovic, continue to play the anti-church card of the “struggle against Serbian chauvinism” in the republic.
Today it has taken the form of an attempt to prevent the enthronement of the new Montenegrin-Primorsky Metropolitan of the Serbian Orthodox Church Ioanniky, the successor of the late Metropolitan Amfilochiy (Radovic).
The cultural capital of Montenegro, Cetinje, is restless. The city is preparing for the ceremony of enthronement of Metropolitan Ioannikiy, the patriotic forces are not happy with this, blocking roads and organizing rallies.
Previously, we predicted that playing the anti-church card is the only way for Montenegrin nationalists, supporters of the schismatic “Montenegrin Orthodox Church,” to provoke the confrontation in the country, which they urgently need to return to power after last year’s defeat of Djukanovic’s party in the parliamentary elections.
