The meeting between Patriarch Bartholomew and the head of the UGCC Svyatoslav Shevchuk did not come as a surprise. In fact, the meeting is another declaration of the readiness of the Church of Constantinople for union with Catholics. They see the only format of unification in some form of union. To which, in fact, Patriarch Bartholomew leads the Orthodox, writes Pravblog.
“The restoration of Eucharistic communion between Orthodox and Catholics will only play in favor of the latter. This will be unification and rapprochement at the expense of Orthodoxy and the erosion of Orthodox ecclesiology.
And in this regard, Ukraine is assigned the role of a “laboratory”, where Ukrainians will be guinea pigs, on which the specified model of “unification” will be tested. Of course, we are talking about the “OCU” and the UGCC, which will create a precedent for communication, in which dogmatic, canonical and other differences between Catholicism and Orthodoxy will fade into the background,” writes the Telegram channel.
