Rector of the new church of the UOC in Sestryatin: Those who left for the “OCU” return to us

On June 23, 2021, in the village of Sestryatin, Radivilovsky district, Rivne region, a new UOC church was consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, which the religious community, which suffered from the OCU raiding, built in just a year. The parish rector, Archpriest Vasily Prokazyuk, spoke about the construction of the new church. The website of the UOJ reports.

The temple was built by the entire religious community, the believers said. Construction began in April 2020 – money for the foundation was allocated by the Kiev Metropolis. And then donations began to flow.

But it was not without problems: supporters of the OCU tried to prevent the construction of a new church of the UOC and wrote a statement to the SBU about the illegal construction. There were all sorts of checks, until the end of which it was impossible to install domes on the temple. Now, they say in Sestryatin, the situation has cleared up, and soon the domes with crosses will decorate the Nicholas Church.

“People who followed the OCU are returning to us. So far, there are not many of them, but I believe that soon they will see even more and return to the canonical Church,” summed up the rector of the new church of the UOC.
