The head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, at a government meeting with the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, complained to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal about the work of regional administrations, writes UOJ.
Dumenko said that there is a problem in the country with the registration of religious communities and insisted on the creation of a separate unit in the Regional State Administration to interact with religious organizations and register their statutes. He also proposed to amend the Law of Ukraine “On Local State Administrations”.
“All over the world, in the countries that our state is guided by in reforms, religious organizations and the way the state interacts with them are always distinguished, as evidenced by special legislation. This practice should be preserved in Ukraine as well,” Dumenko said.
