On February 15, 2021, on the day of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, in the village of Parafievka, Ichnya district, Chernihiv region, an act of vandalism was committed in the St. Nicholas Church of the Nizhyn eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the representatives of the eparchy.

Unknown intruders smashed the icon at the gate, knocked out the windows in the church with stones and destroyed the street lighting.

The police were summoned to the scene of the crime, investigative actions were carried out, and testimony was taken from the abbot and parishioners of the church. Criminal proceedings have been opened on the fact of the crime.

The diocese notes that the religious situation in the village has been tense for several years in connection with the schismatic actions of the local businessman Alexander Senchik.
