MP fears that the Verkhovna Rada will not be able to vote for the ban of the UOC

Mykola Knyazhytskyy, a lobbyist for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the European Solidarity party, fears that the Verkhovna Rada may not vote in the second reading for the bill No. 8371 aimed at banning the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. About this he told on his YouTube channel.

“We have already made the first step. The humanitarian Committee, in which I work, adopted a number of my amendments to the government law (#8371, – ed.), which was previously toothless. And we recommended to the Parliament to adopt this bill as a whole. We have already finalized everything that had to be done at the committee level. Now the question depends only on when the majority will want to put the bill on the ban of the Russian Church to a vote and will support it in the hall. But will they support it?”, – the MP wondered.

Knyazhytsky lamented the lobbyists of the UOC, who, according to him, have even reached the Ukrainian parliament and manipulate the consciousness of the public on the issue of banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

“We see a huge number of lobbyists for the Russian church. We see how the Russian church is trying to advance its long arms into Ukraine in order to manipulate Ukrainian society. We cut off these hands”, – concluded the MP.

We would like to point out that Ukrainian MP of the European Solidarity party Mykola Knyazhytskyy said that the law No 8371, which is planned to be adopted by the Ukrainian parliament in the second reading, is not actually aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
