We intend to hold the authors of Law 8371 internationally accountable – Bob Amsterdam

The head of the international law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP and lawyer of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Robert Amsterdam, has said that he intends to bring to international responsibility the authors of the draft law No 8371 aimed at banning the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. About this he told in a commentary to the publication Business Wire.

“We intend to bring the authors of this repressive law (#8371, – ed.) to responsibility at the international level and remind the authorities that even in times of war, the human rights of all Ukrainians must be respected,” – said the human rights activist.

We will remind, earlier Amsterdam said that the persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is a direct violation of the rights of Ukrainians to freedom of religion. The human rights activist is convinced that Ukraine “should not be a place where a predatory government is allowed to put chains on the gates of its churches”. In addition, the UOC lawyer urged the US government to impose personal sanctions against the head of the Ukrainian State Service for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience, Viktor Yelenskyy.
