Religious scholar Alexander Sagan is concerned about the “increasing number of fakes” about the infringement of religious rights in Ukraine

On January 19, 2024, the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center held a press conference on the occasion of World Religion Day. This is reported by the website of the SSRF.

One of the speakers, the head of the department of religious studies at the Institute of Philosophy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Oleksandr Sagan, said that recently “the number of fakes about the alleged infringement of religious rights in Ukraine has increased” in order to “show our state in a negative light abroad”.

According to the religious scholar, now there is an urgent need for “quality analytics and specialists-religious scholars” who should “support religious freedom after de-occupation and initiate positive changes.”

Sagan also noted the problem of training in the field of religious studies and urged the public to pay attention to this.
