Telegram channel “Dozor on “Pershyi Kozatskyi” told who was behind the organization of the attack on the UOC pilgrims going on a procession to Pochayiv. Journalists said that young people who called in social networks to beat up pilgrims of the UOC, position themselves as Satanists.

On the initiative of UGCC chaplain Petro Burak’s daughter Ulyana Burak, anti-church pickets were organized under Orthodox churches in Ternopil, in particular, under the Cathedral of St. Faith, Hope and Love in April 2023. It is she who leads the group of activists against the UOC pilgrims.

“Beat old people until blue in the face” also called for two young men Dmitry Toronchuk and Alexander Kuznetsov.

“He (Toronchuk, – Ed.) is a young sportsman, loves violence and, according to certain reports, Adolf Hitler. <…> As the locals say, his (Kuznetsov’s, – Ed.) desire to attack peaceful believers is equal to his unwillingness to be at the front,” the journalists added.

The group also includes a girl with the nickname “Ukro-Satanist,” who used the pseudonym “devil” before the anti-church protests.
