Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni’s office said Friday, August 11, that Italy plans to contribute to efforts to rebuild the Odessa Transfiguration Cathedral, which was damaged by Russian shelling. This is reported by Ukrinform, referring to the publication ANSA.
Meloni said in a related statement that the Italian government has engaged two of the country’s most prestigious cultural centers – the Triennale of Milan and the MAXXI Museum in Rome – to “gather the best economic, technical and cultural resources that can contribute to the restoration of the Transfiguration Cathedral.”
It is known that as early as July 23, a delegation of the Commission for Foreign Affairs and Community Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Republic visited Odessa, where they got acquainted with the consequences of a nighttime missile strike.
