Chernihiv Regional Council asks to ban the activities of the UOC

The Chernihiv Regional Council asks to ban the activities of “the Russian Church, its structural divisions and dependent organizations” in Ukraine. It is reported by UNIAN.

The deputies adopted the corresponding appeal to the president, government and parliament on June 6, 2023 during a regular session meeting.

The initiator of the appeal was the deputy of the Chernihiv Regional Council from the “European Solidarity” Yulia Zaika.

According to her, the ban on the UOC is not a matter of faith. “We must explain to the communities that believe that no one takes away the faith and the church. We are working to protect the interests and security of Ukraine,” the deputy said.
