In an interview with the UOJ, People’s Deputy of Ukraine Artem Dmytruk said that the bills to ban the UOC are not put to a vote in the Verkhovna Rada, since many people’s deputies consider them unconstitutional.
“If we are going to adopt such bills, then we need to amend the Constitution. And then many citizens of Ukraine will decide for themselves whether they want to live in a country with such a Constitution or not. So far, these bills banning one religion and allowing another are irrelevant,” he said.
Also, Artem Dmytruk added that there are actually enough people in the Verkhovna Rada who will not support the bill to ban the UOC in the voting.
