At a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy on April 7, 2023, People’s Deputy from the Servant of the People Nikita Poturaev stated that when checking state registers, it turned out that the Moscow Patriarchate does not exist in Ukraine. “In the registers, we do not have the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate,” the people’s deputy said.

He added that the resolution does not indicate the name “UOC-MP” in order “so that the Cabinet of Ministers has reason to do the things that we demand, and so that no one can then appeal against what you asked there (to terminate the contracts – ed.) with the UOC-MP, but there is no such thing, and there is no such subject.”

It is noteworthy that the participants in the committee meeting, among which were, in particular, people’s deputies Vladimir Vyatrovich (“Eurosolidarity”), Yevgenia Kravchuk (“Servant of the People”), Irina Konstankevich (“For the Future”), as well as the chairman of the SSEFC Viktor Yelensky, such a project resolutions were supported.
