Moscow Patriarchate does not exist in Ukraine, – Head of the Legal Department of the UOC

The head of the Legal Department of the UOC, Archpriest Alexander Bakhov, answered the question of whether the Moscow Patriarchate exists in Ukraine.

“The Moscow Patriarchate does not exist in Ukraine,” the clergyman noted.

He said that the founder of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is the Council of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The UOC Center is located in Kyiv. The governing bodies, such as the Cathedral of the UOC, the Council of Bishops of the UOC, and the Holy Synod, are located in the city of Kyiv.

“Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has severed ties with the Moscow Patriarchate. All references to the connection with the Moscow Patriarchate were excluded from the charter, ”said Archpriest Alexander.
