Minister of Culture and Information Policy Alexander Tkachenko said on the air of the telethon that monastic life in the Lavra will not stop after the audit is completed. Hromadske reports about it.
“No one says that the life of the monks in the Lavra will end after the revision is completed. But this is a reason for the monks to be able to decide how they can stay in the Lavra,” he said.
When asked by journalists how the monks could stay in the Lavra, the minister replied that “they are well aware of this.”
Tkachenko also assured that the authorities had foreseen the situation if the UOC refused to leave the territory of the Lavra.
“The audit commission includes representatives of both the SSU and the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” the minister said.
