On February 24, on the anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine, prayers were held in the churches of the Lithuanian Orthodox Church to end the war and bring peace to the long-suffering Ukrainian land. Also, prayers were offered for the repose of all those who died in Ukraine. This was reported on the official website of the Church.
It is noted that all the clergy of the Lithuanian Orthodox Church took part in the prayers.
“In the Vilnius Holy Spirit Monastery, a prayer service was led by Metropolitan Innokenty of Vilna and Lithuania. In his archpastoral sermon, His Eminence called on all the Orthodox of Lithuania — clergy, monastics and laity — to pray for an end to the war in Ukraine throughout Great Lent,” the message reads.
Molebens were performed in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Trakai and Visaginas.
