OCU cleric, rector of the Holy Trinity Spiritual Center Nikolai Zinkevich spoke about who should conduct services in the Pochaev Lavra. It is reported by Suspilne.
“Today, when they (Greek Catholics – Ed.) make claims, I ask myself how the Pochaev Lavra, which since 1240 was a Ukrainian shrine within the Patriarchate of Constantinople, became Greek Catholic in 1800? And they say: “She was the most equipped.” But before that, Iov Pochaevsky built a stone church there. There was a building there. Are these rooms a monastery? The monastery itself is the monastery itself, the shrine itself,” the “priest” noted.
“The Pochaev icon was donated to the Orthodox. It was approved in the temple by Iov Pochaevsky,” he added.
