At the final meeting of the Holy Synod, which took place on December 20, 2022, two new bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were elected, the Information and Education Department of the UOC reports.
The Synod made a decision to appoint a manager of the parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Abroad. They became the cleric of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna diocese, Archimandrite Veniamin (Voloshchuk). His episcopal consecration will take place in the near future.
The Synod also elected a new vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis. Archimandrite Arkady (Demchenko) has been appointed Bishop of Gostomel to be a cleric of the Kyiv diocese.
