On December 5, 2022, former People’s Deputy Borislav Bereza expressed his opinion on the UOC and its future. He wrote about this in a blog on the NV website.

Bereza believes that “for many Ukrainians, the finalization with the ban on the activities of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate is good news.”

Speaking about the clergy of the UOC, the politician noted that not all of them are “Russian agents, but their number in the leadership of the church is huge.”

The former deputy also expressed confidence that the majority of ordinary priests who today serve in the UOC are “ready to move to the OCU.” Although, in his opinion, “it will not always be a moral choice, but rather a pragmatic one, but it will be just that.”

And, finally, Borislav Bereza declared that “there will be no revolt in the UOC-MP. Separate local protests will be quickly and firmly extinguished, and the priests who initiated them will deservedly go to jail if they do not have time to leave for Russia.”
