The priest of the Cretan Orthodox Church, Emmanuel Sarris, stopped commemorating his primate and the ruling bishop, accusing them of the heresy of ecumenism, the Vima Orthodoxia newspaper reports.
In a video posted on YouTube, the priest said that he does not recognize Archbishop Eugene of Crete and the ruling bishop of Rethymno and Avlopotamos Prodromos as hierarchs, considers them heretics and calls them secular names. He also said that he had stopped commemorating their names at the Divine Liturgy.
According to him, Archbishop Eugene adheres to ecumenism – «the pan-heresies of our time», does not teach Orthodoxy and does many things that confuse believers.
