In Chernihiv region deputies refused to representatives of the OCU to ban the UOC

On July 22, supporters of the OCU in the city of Mena, Chernihiv region, asked the deputies of the city council to suspend the activities of the UOC for the period of martial law, reports suspilne.media.

A session was held in the city council, which considered an appeal from supporters of the OCU regarding the ban on the UOC. As a result of the meeting, the deputies addressed the people, in which they noted that they support the parents and wives of Ukrainian soldiers, but they do not have the authority to ban or suspend the activities of the UOC.

Regarding the transition to the OCU, the City Council stated that only parishioners can make such a decision.
