Jan Taksyur’s daughter spoke about the trial of her father

A regular hearing was held on the case of the Orthodox journalist Jan Taksyur, the court left the journalist in custody, despite the state of his health. The daughter of the Ukrainian writer, satirist and Orthodox journalist Yan Taksyur Mariko spoke about the details of the last court hearing and the state of her father’s health.

“The lawyer filed a petition to change the measure of restraint to house arrest. Before that, I talked about the fact that we have to do medical examinations of my father and we will count on changes in the preventive measure,” Mariko said.

Earlier, the daughter of an Orthodox journalist announced a charity fundraiser for legal support of the trial. Thanks to caring people, we managed to collect 60% of the required amount.

“We did 2 out of 3 surveys. They did an MRI and they did tumor markers. According to the results, tumor markers are elevated <…> And MRI indicates that there is a tumor. With a high probability, it is malignant, ”said Yana Taksyur’s daughter.

A biopsy, the results of which make the final diagnosis, was not done in time. “Perhaps if the result was for this meeting, dad would be at home today. We have to wait for the next meeting. We will file the same petition,” Mariko said. And she added that Yan Taxiur feels pain, but holds on.

The writer’s daughter noted that at the meeting, the court allowed Yan Taksyur to leave the “glass” and sit next to his lawyer, which made it possible to defend his father more effectively.

“I hope there will be more and more of these joys. We’re holding on. And we hold on thanks to your prayers for the servant of God John,” said the daughter of an Orthodox journalist Mariko.
