On May 23, 2022, by the decision of the Synod of the OCU, it was decided to form a “monastery” as part of this organization under the name “Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra of the UOC / OCU”. This was reported on the OCU Facebook page.
The “monastyr” will be subordinated to the “metropolitan” Epiphanius Dumenko. However, the OCU also prepared a “bishop of Boryspil”, a vicar of the Kyiv diocese, who was elected “archimandrite” Anthony Firlei.
It was also reported that Epiphanius Dumenko would apply to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine with a request to take one of the temples of the Upper Lavra from the museum subordination and give it to the “monastery” of the OCU.
