Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, Patriarchal Exarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa, announced the first baptism in the Russian Orthodox Church in Tanzania. The metropolitan published photos from this event in his Telegram, also talking about a series of important meetings of representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church in this country.

“We have a lot of good news from Tanzania.

The divine Liturgy was celebrated in Dar es Salaam. According to custom, our priestly crosses and antimensions were handed over to the priests. The first baptism took place! Archpriest Andrey Novikov held a meeting with the Tanzanian fathers… A wonderful, fruitful day!” the Patriarchal Exarch wrote.

Earlier it was reported that the clerics in Tanzania, who announced their intention to go to the Russian Orthodox Church, received threats from the Tanzanian Bishop of the Alexandrian Patriarchate.
