The Patriarchal Exarch told how the issue of temples in Africa will be resolved

The Patriarchal Exarch of the Russian Orthodox Church in Africa, Metropolitan Leonid of Klin, said that some of the communities in Africa that have joined the Russian Orthodox Church will remain in their churches, while others will build new ones. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

In most cases, along with the African priests from the Patriarchate of Alexandria, the parishioners of churches also moved to the Russian Orthodox Church. Believers help their priests, the ROC also helps them.

“For the most part, the parishioners stayed with their priests and, in fact, also switched to the Russian Orthodox Church. We are not aware of conflicts between the parishioners of churches within the transfer of priests to the Russian Orthodox Church,” said the exarch of Africa.

The issue of churches in parishes will be resolved in different ways. A number of church premises were rented by the Patriarchate of Alexandria from private individuals. The ROC is already receiving offers from owners to rent. Where it will be impossible to return the temple, the ROC will help to rent or build a new one.
