The Holy Synod of the UOC noted, summing up the results of 2021, that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church continued to actively carry out social service. Received help from the Church: 182 geriatric centers, 168 boarding schools, 1800 large families. In addition, 204 hot lunch points were set up for the homeless. The total amount in all areas of social work in 2021 amounted to about 30 million hryvnia, according to the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.
In addition, work was carried out to organize and coordinate the spiritual care of the Ukrainian diaspora. Thus, during the current year, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church opened two new parishes abroad.
In 2021, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church actively communicated with the Local Orthodox Churches. The bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church had prayerful communion with the hierarchs of the Antiochian, Jerusalem, Georgian, Serbian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Albanian, Polish Orthodox Churches, the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, the Orthodox Church in America, as well as with the bishops of the Cypriot and Greek Churches who remained faithful to Orthodox canons.
The year 2021 ends for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with good statistical indicators. The number of monasteries, parishes, clergy and monks has increased.
The number of dioceses is 53.
The number of bishops is 108.
The number of parishes is 12 381 (7 more compared to 2020).
The number of clergy is 12,513 (57 more than in 2020).
The number of monasteries is 260 (5 more compared to 2020).
The number of monks is 4630 (82 more compared to 2020).
