According to political expert Ruslan Bortnik, the UOC behaved “softly” in the face of pressure on it. Now the approach should be changed. And this, he believes, should be done through the initiation of an all-Ukrainian referendum by the UOC on the abolition of the law on forced renaming.

The political scientist is confident that millions of Ukrainian citizens will support such a decision.

He also believes that the abolition of the law on the forced renaming of the UOC will allow the authorities to improve its electoral ratings. According to the expert, Ukraine needs all those aspects and steps that do not divide, but unite society. One of them just could be the decision to abolish the scandalous law.
