UOC Primate Appoints Temporary Administrator of the Diocese in Crimea

The Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine, Onufry, appointed the temporary administrator of the Dzhankoy diocese to replace the deceased Metropolitan Alypy. It will be Bishop Nestor (Donenko) of Yalta. This was reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

“Much has been done by the leadership of the deceased archpastor: a full-fledged diocesan life has been organized, old churches have been revived and new ones erected. Fifty years of life by human standards is not a long time, but even during this time the late Metropolitan Alipy managed to establish himself as a zealous worker in the field of Christ.

Remembering with gratitude today the labors incurred by Vladyka Metropolitan Alipy, we offer a prayer for his repose in the villages of the righteous, where there is no illness, no sorrow, no sighing, but life is endless.

We bless the rite of the funeral service for the deceased to be headed by His Grace Metropolitan Lazar of Simferopol and Crimea.

We entrust the temporary administration of the Dzhankoy diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church to the vicar of the Dzhankoy diocese, His Grace Bishop Nestor of Yalta, ”reads the Primate’s condolences to the flock and clergy of the Dzhankoy diocese of the UOC.

As previously reported, Vladyka Alipy died on November 16, 2021.
