The Russian Orthodox Church spoke about the digitalization of religious life

Church ordinances cannot be realized using digital technologies, but digitalization is widely used in church life, said Vladimir Legoyda, chairman of the synodal department for church relations with society and the media of the Moscow Patriarchate.

“As for church life, the question is not inadmissibility (digitalization), but in the unrealizability of the sacraments. When we talk about the out-of-service life of the church, digital technologies have been and will be used and will be widely used,” he said at a press conference at RIA Novosti …

As an example of the entry of the digital environment into church use, Legoyda cited broadcasts of divine services that spread widely during the coronavirus pandemic.
