On September 15, 2021, Russian Ambassador to Israel Anatoly Viktorov was received by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and all Palestine, according to the Patriarchia.ru.

The meeting was attended by the head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, Archimandrite Alexander (Elisov) and the Deputy Head of the RDM, Hieromonk Dometian (Markarian).

During the conversation, some aspects of church-diplomatic interaction were discussed with an emphasis on the importance of maintaining inter-church dialogue in the interests of ensuring the spiritual unity of the Orthodox world.

Special attention was paid to issues related to the resumption of trips of Orthodox pilgrims to Israel.
