Synod of the Bulgarian Church elected a new bishop

On September 20, 2021, the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, at its full meeting chaired by His Holiness Patriarch Neophyte of Bulgaria, discussed the ordination to the episcopal rank of Archimandrite Pachomius, rector of the Sofia Theological Seminary of St. John of Rylsky, and after discussion and voting, unanimously decided:

Give a blessing to Archimandrite Pachomius for ordination to the episcopal rank with the title Branitsky on October 19, 2021 in the church of St. John of Rila at the Sofia Theological Seminary.

After his consecration, Bishop Pachomius will continue his service as rector of the Sofia Theological Seminary of St. John of Rylsky.

Archimandrite Pachomius was named Bishop of Branitsky on September 20, 2021 in the Synodal Chamber.
