Metropolitan of the UOC concelebrated with the hierarch of the Church of Greece

Metropolitan Nektarios of Kerkir (Archdiocese of Greece) concelebrated on August 11, on the feast day of St. Spiridon according to the New Julian calendar, in the cathedral on the island of Corfu with the Metropolitan of Zaporozhye and Melitopol UOC Luka (Kovalenko). This is reported by the online edition Fos Fanariou.

As the newspaper notes, according to the break in communion with the Primate of the Church of Greece, Metropolitan Luke does not commemorate the Archbishop of Athens, while Metropolitan Nektarios does.

According to the authors of the profanar publication, Metropolitan Nektarios “forms an unhealthy ecclesiology due to concelebration with a hierarch who is not in communion with his primate.”

The publication also quotes the words from the greetings of Nectarios to Patriarch Bartholomew, who visited Corfu in 2014. Then the Metropolitan of Kerkir recognized the primacy of the head of the Church of Constantinople as a prerequisite for “belonging to the Ecumenical Church.”
