The UOC Administrator meets with Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II

On June 7, 2021, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onuphry, the Administrator of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, met in Tbilisi with His Holiness Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia, the website of the DECR UOC reports.

Archpriest Mykolay Danylevych, Deputy Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, accompanied metropolitan Anthony. The meeting was also attended by the clerics of the UOC, Protodeacon Vadim Novinsky and Protodeacon Alexei Pertin.

From the Georgian side, the meeting was attended by: Locum Tenens of the Patriarchal Throne, Metropolitan Shio of Senaki and Chkhorotsqu, Chairman of the Foreign Department of the Georgian Patriarchate, Metropolitan Gerasim of Zugdidi and Tsaish, Metropolitan Theodore of Akhaltsikhe and Tao-Klarzeoria, Metropolitan Andrei of Gori, employees of Patriarch of Georgia.

During the meeting, which took place in a fraternal and warm atmosphere, Metropolitan Anthony informed the Patriarch of Georgia about the real state of affairs in Ukrainian Orthodoxy. Ways of further cooperation between the Ukrainian and Georgian Orthodox Churches were discussed.

After the meeting with the Patriarch, a separate meeting took place with the locum tenens of the Patriarchal throne, Metropolitan Shio of Senaki and Chkhorotsqu.
