Today, Bishop Ioannikiy (Micovic) was elected the new Metropolitan of Montenegro and Primorsky at the Council of Bishops.

Bishop Diocletian, vicar of the Montenegrin-Primorsky metropolitanate, abbot of the Cetinje monastery, Methodius (Ostoich) became the new bishop of Budimlyansk-Niksic.

As reported, on October 31, 2020, the Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church appointed Bishop Ioanniki of Budimljan-Niksic as the administrator of the Montenegrin-Primorsky Metropolitanate. The day before, Metropolitan Amfilohiy of the Montenegrin-Primorsky SOC died.
