On May 2, in the St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery of the OCU, his viceroy “Archbishop” Agapit met the Holy Fire from Jerusalem, which was brought by two women by plane, the OCU website writes.

“I express my gratitude today to two women, faithful to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, with the help of whom the Holy Fire was delivered to Kiev by a regular plane, and now it is in our St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral.

I also want to note that the Holy Fire should not overshadow the very holiday of the Resurrection of the Lord,” said the representative of the OCU.

Since the creation of the OCU, the Jerusalem Patriarchate has prevented the OCU from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulcher for the descent of the Holy Fire. The fire is transmitted to the OCU by representatives of the Ukrainian embassy in Jerusalem.
