We do not condemn the OCU until they beat and rob us, – lawyer of the UOC-KP

The head of the legal department of the Kyiv Patriarchate, Neonila Tkachenko, believes that after the probable restoration of the registration of the UOC-KP, the communities themselves will decide whether to choose the structure of the OCU or remain in Filaret’s jurisdiction. Tkachenko told about this on her Facebook page.

At the same time, Tkachenko noted that she recognizes the departure to the OCU of a part of the former UOC-KP community, which includes the lawyer herself.

“In the community in Odessa, to which I belong, the community has decided that it should stay in the UOC-KP. But a part of the community, which went into the OCU in euphoria, also exists.

I cannot say that the OCU arose from scratch. This is primarily the clergy. They wanted canonicity, they went to Constantinople, this is their choice. We cannot judge them until they beat us. When they start beating us, taking our property, they should be condemned.

It is very difficult for me to convince those people who left for the OCU that they made a mistake. They begin to react aggressively to this, because there is an information legend that everyone who is not the OCU, without exception, are agents of the Kremlin. These are all the FSC, the enemies of Ukraine, and if you are not in the OCU, you are not Ukrainian, you are not a patriot, not a hero, you must leave. Such work was carried out and is still being carried out, it is very often now broadcast by the head of the OCU: if you are not in the OCU, you have no right to be Ukrainian. I already perceive this with irony. I won’t go there. I have certain ideological criteria. The OCU is not the structure that I trust,” concluded Neonila Tkachenko.
